Office Prankster

So at work there is a group of three of us that are officially known as "The Office Pranksters" at work. It is a very proud title I hold. I have even made it to the top of Craig's "crap list", tied with Jeff in first place (Telicia knows what that means). This is also a very proud moment for me. So Jeff and I teamed together to pull a prank in the office on Halloween. We decided we were going to hire Lil' Craig to get in our huge recycle bin and pop out at someone who opened it. We hand picked a lady named Alice because there are a few people that possibly could have died of a heart attack if they were the one to open the bin. Long story short, I set up some cameras, we buried Craig in paper, and Jeff called Alice and asked if she could check the recycle bin for a pink piece of paper that he thought he "accidentally" threw away. Here was our result...

We couldn't pull it on anyone else because she screamed so loud that the entire office came running in, but it was well worth it!

Other than that, this was as exciting as Halloween got at the Nielson house....

What Happens in Vegas...

How to finish this statement is beyond words I can come up with.
My parents had this genius idea that they wanted to take us girls to go learn what lifestyle we would never want to have. I think we learned our lesson :) It was actually a lot of fun for two days, but two days was plenty. The strip is way fun to walk down and see everything- literally everything. There were very talented people and not so talented people, classy people and ghetto people, fun things to see and some nasty things (to say the least). This was just after conference and we were walking around joking about how we couldn't look down or in front of us so we needed to look up like they talked about in conference! Of course right where we were standing there was a nude man painted on the ceiling... basically you're supposed to walk around with your eyes closed! The shows there are incredible though and first time at a buffet... I think I had at least ten plates. It was awesome!

My parents also kept saying they wanted to take us all the way around the world in one night so here's just a few places that we went..

DisneyLand
Vegas
My favorite!
Italy
My cute parents
New York
Egypt
All you can eat!!!
My concluding thought on Vegas... if you aren't wearing the tightest dress you can find and carrying a drink in one hand with a cigarette in the other then people are going to look at you funny.

How lucky I am to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Thank you Joe DiMaggio!

Soooo a while back I was talking to a guy at work about our favorite cars. I told him that mine was hands down a Maserati and he said that Doug (another guy at work) has two good friends with Maserati's and one time Doug borrowed one and drove it to work. So after talking to Doug about this he started joking with me saying that his friend Frank was going to stop by in his Maserati, but it never happened.
Well Doug has been telling me for the past week that on Tuesday Frank was picking him up for lunch, but I didn't really believe him. Well guess what? I about wet my pants when I looked up from my desk today and there was a 2010 black Quattroporte S with red calipers parked horizontally outside the front door!!! It looked a little something like this...

look at that sparkle!

Frank knew I was obsessed so he got out and handed me the keys and said to take it for a spin!!! I'm so mad at myself that I didn't, but I was just too nervous to crash this beautiful piece of art. So I got in and he took me for a ride instead which I'm glad he did because I wouldn't have had the guts to step on the gas and within a few seconds get up to 85 on a 45MPH road. IT. WAS. AWESOME!!! Frank came strait from having it washed and detailed so it would be perfect and it was! The only thing that could've made it better is if it was mine and I was in a red silky dress with sexy black heels with my man in a suit in the driver seat, but other than that is was a dream come true! I WANT ONE!!!!!
Lets just say I'm obsessed :)

And if you're wondering why I titled this "Thank you Joe DiMaggio" your either wondering who the heck that is, or what that has to do with anything. Let me tell you. Joe DiMaggio is a really famous Yankee baseball player. Well, Joe is Frank's grandpa. The only reason Frank can afford a gorgeous car like this is because of money inherited from his famous grandpa and from being a sports agent for professional teams because of his "in" from his grandpa. So basically I had the greatest day because of Joe DiMaggio! Thank you Joe!

Blah

I feel like I'm in such a "blah" part of life. Everyone my age has gone on a study abroad, taught English in another country, are turning in mission papers, have gotten married and even having babies! Everyone talks about all of these experiences that are changing their lives and so incredible and it makes me feel so blah! I've wanted to do so many different things but every time I pray about it, it has always felt wrong. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy to have gotten clear answers, but I am so ready for some kind of change or excitement in my life. My life has been completely consumed of work and school since I graduated and I'm getting burned out.

A few weeks ago I decided that if none of the big things I want to do feel right, then I was going to do something fun and exciting here. So, I made a list of all the things that I think make the perfect wife/mother. I wrote down the qualities that I admire most in my favorite women and the talents that I want to have like these special women in my life. My new goal is to become the ultimate woman so I can be an awesome mom someday!
I won't bore you with my whole list but here are a couple of the first things I've chosen to learn how to do...

1. I'm teaching myself how to sew! I know this probably comes naturally to a lot of women, but I have never been good with the creative/home-maker/needle stuff. After a few youtube videos on how to thread a bobbin I made this all by myself!
Cute Apron

2. I am taking a cake decorating class!! I mean seriously, what makes a cooler mom than one that can make Barbie/Shrek/Spongebob cakes for her kids birthdays?! My mom made the coolest cakes and I'm going to too! My class starts this week so I'll have to post pictures of my creations later. If I don't - you'll know it didn't turn out very well!

3. My dad is teaching me how to change a tire on a car! I'm just hoping someday me and my husband are driving down the road and the tire blows out and he won't know what to do. That's when I step in and fix it without saying a word and he thinks "Daaaang girl!" Okay, so maybe it'd help if I looked like Megan Fox in transformers, but I'm still going to be so cool for knowing how to do it!

4. I'm teaching myself how to do acrylic nails. I actually got my little starter kit to try it out tonight and put them on my sister-in-law, Jamie. Lets just say someday when I'm doing Reese Witherspoon's nails we're going to think about tonight and laugh. Actually, they really didn't look that bad... if you were looking from far away ... with your eyes squinted... Okay, so I need to work on this one, but it's going to be great!

5. Last for this week... I'm learning how to do my hair! I've always had really short hair and now that I have long hair I don't know what to do with it. Part of being the ultimate mom requires being cute. I think every girl wants to be that cute mom that sits on the sidelines of soccer practice and brings cupcakes to her kids class. My problem is I don't want to have to spend lots of time getting cute. So my friend Cami taught me some cool tricks and a way to curl your hair in 5 minutes flat! I'm pretty much obsessed! Now I can be a cute little mom with hardly any effort at all!

5 min. curls!

I'm so grateful for so many women that make me want to be such a better wife and mom. I watch so many women that can make anything fun for their families and make do with what they have, and I hope that one day I can be just as wonderful. I am so blessed to be surrounded by so many incredible women! I don't need to go to Europe or volunteer in an orphanage in Africa to make life exciting. I have so many things right here at home to do and skills to develop that will make me such a better person!  I'm finally realizing that sometimes those life changing experiences that we all want may come a little at a time, day by day when you don't even know it.

4th of July

View from the top of the train

My family went and spent the 4th of July weekend at the ranch.Uncle Eric and his 5 kids decided to come at the last minute and join us. We had so much fun!

Cute Tate

Of course the 4th of July just wouldn't feel right without going to the Taylor Rodeo! One of the bull riders got stomped on and put in the ambulance which meant that the rodeo was a success! It was so much fun with our cute little boy cousins because they were going crazy over the whole thing!

Seth

I asked Seth to smile and he said WAIT! I guess he just needed to flip his hat sideways for the picture!

This time he wanted it backwards

We were told that there are so many prairie dogs that the cows are getting stuck in their holes and breaking their legs so David was more than thrilled to take it upon himself to get rid of them! Every half hour he had to go check to see if any new Prairie Dogs came out that he could shoot.

Jamie always thought she was being attacked by bees! haha! Love my sister-in-law!!!

 tIe DyE sHiRtS

Jamie had the cutest idea to tie dye shirts red and blue for the 4th of July. We had no clue what we were doing, but somehow they worked and they were so fun and cute!

On this trip I ate so much ice cream it was AWESOME! Strawberry shortcake bars are by far the best!! Oh and this is a picture of me and Amber (with a strawberry shortcake bar in my hand)!

Reid at the creek
It was such a fun weekend and I'm ready for the next break from work already!

I LOVE NEPHEWS!!!

Bridger Matthew Webb
(Little Beemer)

I cannot wait to meet our new little boy in Texas! He is so cute and looks just like a miniature Matt!

I love my little boys that are here too!

Tyler, Aunt Jenni, and Rigby

Riggeroni's Big Eyes

Top three reasons I love nephews...

1. When they cry you can give them back!
2. When something breaks you can blame them!
3. They make you realize that there is so much more to life then working and doing "grown-up" stuff. Everyone needs a little boy to help you realize that there is always time for Thomas and there's nothing like a little boy's giggle to soothe you.

TREK

I was lucky enough to get called to be a Big Sister on the trek! According to my little sisters I look like I'm only 16 so I guess I didn't look much like a big sister, but I loved my family so much!

 The Rogers Family
I've never been on a trek so I was really excited to go. My brothers and I rapped pretty much the entire way and I never thought we could have so much fun while doing such a hard thing!

My cute little sisters

Us sleeping

It got so cold at night that we would say goodnight and we would bury ourselves inside of our sleeping bag. Because it was so cold, nobody ever wanted to get up in the morning. Soooo what does Big Sis do?? One morning I was singing wake-up songs all cheerfully and waking my girls up and all the sudden I realized how much I am becoming just like my mom... I thought that happened later in life... Crud!!!!

I know this is so gross but my feet were filthy afterwards! I didn't get a single blister though and I even wore brand new shoes :) I was so proud of myself! It was so worth every piece of dirt and every sore muscle though. Honest to goodness this will be one of my most cherished memories and greatest experiences!

Summer of the Sisterhood Begins...

When my best friends told me that they were both leaving me for the summer, I decided that this summer was going to be just like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (except for the traveling pants part). Kymri is going on two study abroads to Mexico and Africa which makes her Lena in the movie. Mare is going to Utah and then New York for a month to be in the Hill Cumorah pageant which makes her Bridget. That leaves me as either Carmen- the one whose family falls apart and she hates life or Tibby who becomes best friends with a little girl that has cancer and dies. Hmm.... I can't decide which one I want to be.

Anyway, to celebrate our last night together and finally finishing the worst semester of school ever.... we drank "shots" of Crush and ate doughnuts!!!

Since there's no such thing as pants that fit all sizes we got our matching Smackers so they can remember me while they're kissing boys this summer.

I LOVE MY FRIENDS!!!

I hope you two have the greatest summer ever!!! I can't wait till we get to the end of the movie where you come home and we do this all over again!

Look Who Came To Visit... ELDER SHIELDS!!!

I walked into my house and for a whole second I really thought Stanton was standing in my door way! I made the cut out of him for Candace's wedding and he just got finished. I felt so rebellious so I had to ask my mom if it was okay if he stayed in my room for the night. It's the first time Stanton got to come in my room with me and he doesn't even know it! I actually kind of felt like Bella in Twilight with Edward watching her all night- a little uncomfortable, a little creepy, but he is just too cute to not love!

Naughty boy holding my hand as a missionary...

We've had fun taking pictures and scaring people with him! When mom called us up for dinner, Amber came walking up the stairs carrying Stanton so he could join us for dinner. He didn't say anything though when dad asked him to pray. How weird is that?! If he only knew what was going on.... Love the boy!!!

It's just what we do...

Every single semester our teachers give us assignments on the first day of school in the syllabus, and every single semester we don't do them until the night before and every semester we tell ourselves that next semester I'm not going to procrastinate my assignments, then every following semester we find ourselves in this same position. You think we'd learn our lesson by now!!!
