Texas

Last weekend I got to take a fast trip to Texas and visit Matt, Telicia and Bridger! I LOVE TEXAS! Okay I love the wind, and I love that I was there visiting my sister; I don't know how much I love the whole no mountains thing, but needless to say it was way too short of a trip and lots of fun! They have the cutest house, an adorable baby, and brownies... it doesn't get much better than that! Here's a few pictures!

He was so cute with his jean diaper and Huggies shirt! I have a weird thing for cute diapers.
When I got there the first thing I wanted to see was his army crawl. So I put him down and he kind of crawled for real for the first time! I am claiming to be his good luck charm!

He loves his electronics
Waiting for dad to come home
Happy time in the bouncer
The cute Webb family
Sistas!
I love when he laughs so hard
This was only my second time on an airplane and the ride there wasn't so wonderful, but Dramamine works wonders and there is something so magical about flying through clouds!! I couldn't stop staring out the window and I think the lady next to me thought I was crazy because I couldn't stop smiling!

Tis the Season

So I have basically slacked and not posted for the longest time, so I figured it's time to put something new on here! My holidays were pretty typical but a lot of fun! There was of course gingerbread houses made...

Ugly sweater parties to participate in...

My boss, Ben

Nephews to love on...

Beemer
Rigby smashing his face on the window

Great grandma's fur coats to try on...

I really want this one!
Games to play...
Mom gave out jelly bean games where you spin the spinner and you have to eat the color it lands
on, but there is one good flavor and one bad one that look alike so you don't know what you're eating until it's in your mouth. (naughty or nice- get it?!)

My favorite missionary in the world to talk to!!!!

My favorite part of the whole month was talking to this sweet boy on Christmas!
Best present EVER!

And we ended it on New Years by sitting 3rd row, middle of the court at the Suns game! I don't really even know anything about basketball, but I do know it was sweet to be right up in the action! Basketball players are HUGE - in case you didn't know!!

I hope everyone had a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year!

Office Prankster

So at work there is a group of three of us that are officially known as "The Office Pranksters" at work. It is a very proud title I hold. I have even made it to the top of Craig's "crap list", tied with Jeff in first place (Telicia knows what that means). This is also a very proud moment for me. So Jeff and I teamed together to pull a prank in the office on Halloween. We decided we were going to hire Lil' Craig to get in our huge recycle bin and pop out at someone who opened it. We hand picked a lady named Alice because there are a few people that possibly could have died of a heart attack if they were the one to open the bin. Long story short, I set up some cameras, we buried Craig in paper, and Jeff called Alice and asked if she could check the recycle bin for a pink piece of paper that he thought he "accidentally" threw away. Here was our result...

We couldn't pull it on anyone else because she screamed so loud that the entire office came running in, but it was well worth it!

Other than that, this was as exciting as Halloween got at the Nielson house....

So happy to take a pic. with Aunt Jenni

What Happens in Vegas...

How to finish this statement is beyond words I can come up with.
My parents had this genius idea that they wanted to take us girls to go learn what lifestyle we would never want to have. I think we learned our lesson :) It was actually a lot of fun for two days, but two days was plenty. The strip is way fun to walk down and see everything- literally everything. There were very talented people and not so talented people, classy people and ghetto people, fun things to see and some nasty things (to say the least). This was just after conference and we were walking around joking about how we couldn't look down or in front of us so we needed to look up like they talked about in conference! Of course right where we were standing there was a nude man painted on the ceiling... basically you're supposed to walk around with your eyes closed! The shows there are incredible though and first time at a buffet... I think I had at least ten plates. It was awesome!

My parents also kept saying they wanted to take us all the way around the world in one night so here's just a few places that we went..

DisneyLand
Vegas
My favorite!
Italy
My cute parents
New York
Egypt
All you can eat!!!
My concluding thought on Vegas... if you aren't wearing the tightest dress you can find and carrying a drink in one hand with a cigarette in the other then people are going to look at you funny.

How lucky I am to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard.

Thank you Joe DiMaggio!

Soooo a while back I was talking to a guy at work about our favorite cars. I told him that mine was hands down a Maserati and he said that Doug (another guy at work) has two good friends with Maserati's and one time Doug borrowed one and drove it to work. So after talking to Doug about this he started joking with me saying that his friend Frank was going to stop by in his Maserati, but it never happened.
Well Doug has been telling me for the past week that on Tuesday Frank was picking him up for lunch, but I didn't really believe him. Well guess what? I about wet my pants when I looked up from my desk today and there was a 2010 black Quattroporte S with red calipers parked horizontally outside the front door!!! It looked a little something like this...

look at that sparkle!

Frank knew I was obsessed so he got out and handed me the keys and said to take it for a spin!!! I'm so mad at myself that I didn't, but I was just too nervous to crash this beautiful piece of art. So I got in and he took me for a ride instead which I'm glad he did because I wouldn't have had the guts to step on the gas and within a few seconds get up to 85 on a 45MPH road. IT. WAS. AWESOME!!! Frank came strait from having it washed and detailed so it would be perfect and it was! The only thing that could've made it better is if it was mine and I was in a red silky dress with sexy black heels with my man in a suit in the driver seat, but other than that is was a dream come true! I WANT ONE!!!!!
Lets just say I'm obsessed :)

And if you're wondering why I titled this "Thank you Joe DiMaggio" your either wondering who the heck that is, or what that has to do with anything. Let me tell you. Joe DiMaggio is a really famous Yankee baseball player. Well, Joe is Frank's grandpa. The only reason Frank can afford a gorgeous car like this is because of money inherited from his famous grandpa and from being a sports agent for professional teams because of his "in" from his grandpa. So basically I had the greatest day because of Joe DiMaggio! Thank you Joe!

Blah

I feel like I'm in such a "blah" part of life. Everyone my age has gone on a study abroad, taught English in another country, are turning in mission papers, have gotten married and even having babies! Everyone talks about all of these experiences that are changing their lives and so incredible and it makes me feel so blah! I've wanted to do so many different things but every time I pray about it, it has always felt wrong. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy to have gotten clear answers, but I am so ready for some kind of change or excitement in my life. My life has been completely consumed of work and school since I graduated and I'm getting burned out.

A few weeks ago I decided that if none of the big things I want to do feel right, then I was going to do something fun and exciting here. So, I made a list of all the things that I think make the perfect wife/mother. I wrote down the qualities that I admire most in my favorite women and the talents that I want to have like these special women in my life. My new goal is to become the ultimate woman so I can be an awesome mom someday!
I won't bore you with my whole list but here are a couple of the first things I've chosen to learn how to do...

1. I'm teaching myself how to sew! I know this probably comes naturally to a lot of women, but I have never been good with the creative/home-maker/needle stuff. After a few youtube videos on how to thread a bobbin I made this all by myself!
Cute Apron

2. I am taking a cake decorating class!! I mean seriously, what makes a cooler mom than one that can make Barbie/Shrek/Spongebob cakes for her kids birthdays?! My mom made the coolest cakes and I'm going to too! My class starts this week so I'll have to post pictures of my creations later. If I don't - you'll know it didn't turn out very well!

3. My dad is teaching me how to change a tire on a car! I'm just hoping someday me and my husband are driving down the road and the tire blows out and he won't know what to do. That's when I step in and fix it without saying a word and he thinks "Daaaang girl!" Okay, so maybe it'd help if I looked like Megan Fox in transformers, but I'm still going to be so cool for knowing how to do it!

4. I'm teaching myself how to do acrylic nails. I actually got my little starter kit to try it out tonight and put them on my sister-in-law, Jamie. Lets just say someday when I'm doing Reese Witherspoon's nails we're going to think about tonight and laugh. Actually, they really didn't look that bad... if you were looking from far away ... with your eyes squinted... Okay, so I need to work on this one, but it's going to be great!

5. Last for this week... I'm learning how to do my hair! I've always had really short hair and now that I have long hair I don't know what to do with it. Part of being the ultimate mom requires being cute. I think every girl wants to be that cute mom that sits on the sidelines of soccer practice and brings cupcakes to her kids class. My problem is I don't want to have to spend lots of time getting cute. So my friend Cami taught me some cool tricks and a way to curl your hair in 5 minutes flat! I'm pretty much obsessed! Now I can be a cute little mom with hardly any effort at all!

5 min. curls!

I'm so grateful for so many women that make me want to be such a better wife and mom. I watch so many women that can make anything fun for their families and make do with what they have, and I hope that one day I can be just as wonderful. I am so blessed to be surrounded by so many incredible women! I don't need to go to Europe or volunteer in an orphanage in Africa to make life exciting. I have so many things right here at home to do and skills to develop that will make me such a better person!  I'm finally realizing that sometimes those life changing experiences that we all want may come a little at a time, day by day when you don't even know it.
