10.12.12

We finally got pictures back so here goes complete picture overload...

The only word that can describe this day is PERFECT; the entire day was completely perfect from the weather to the food to the people to the ceremony and mostly because I was marrying the perfect man... How could the day get any better than that?!

A few picture from our bridals before hand...
The bridals were so much fun to take. This was the first time Stanton saw me all dressed up and it made everything feel so real! We did them about two weeks before the wedding and it really was one of my favorite days ever!
He wasn't allowed to turn around as I walked up...

He looked soooo handsome...

And he's all mine :)

 The actual wedding day!

Presenting Mr & Mrs Shields :)

VICTORY!

Best parents in the entire world!

We had a huge crowd waiting outside for us which was the best way to start our married life with all the people we love most!

Sisters!

One of my absolute favorites from the day.

Stanton and I are so lucky because we really have the best families in the world! We both scored big time having the greatest sets of parents and the most fun and supportive siblings in the world! We love our family!!
Best in-law's EVER!
Best family EVER!
Cute nephews (missing Brigham) EVER!

Bridesmaids!

We were one good looking group!

Groomsmen

One of my other favorites. Cute father and son!

Not sure who this is, but I hope someone got him something to drink!

Funfetti Cake!

Father/Daughter Dance

Mother/Son Dance

I Could Not Ask For More

This is to put on record that Brantley earned the garter! If you look closely at the poor kid in red (although we cannot figure out who he is), this kid was dominated by Brantley's hands and someone else behind him. This is determination.. Well done B!!!

The end to the most perfect day! And the beginning of so many more...

Luckiest Girl in the World!

So... I promised to dedicate my whole next post to Stanton, and I thought I'd be writing about how exciting it is that he got home and that whole spiel, but I have a much better post to write.... WE'RE ENGAGED! Long story short his whole homecoming has been wonderful and clearly things picked up right where they left off :) I couldn't love him more!

The Proposal:
Stanton and I had a lot of things going on this week so our only date night would be Wednesday night. Stan asked me what I wanted to do and I said we should go to the airport! All through high school we would take Pete's Fish & Chips up the roof of the airport and watch planes take off and land and watch cars drive by. Secretly that is what he was hoping I would say- he just wanted me to think that it was all my idea. Well Wednesday came around and earlier in the day he text me and said he had a gift for me that he forgot to give me from Spain. (I feel like every other day he gives me something from Spain so I didn't think anything of it). So we went and got Pete's that night and were driving out to the airport. We happened to even talk about the ring and how it probably would be a few weeks before he could get it. Literally I had no idea it was happening that night.
So we got to the roof of the airport and there was a guy standing enjoying the view and another car pulled up and people got out and set up a video camera and filmed planes taking off and then a security car came up and parked. We have NEVER had any other person up there at the same time as us so Stanton was very frustrated. He asked if I wanted to go somewhere else and I was like "No, this is our spot!" So we ate and finally people started leaving. We walked over to the edge and watched cars come and go and we were finally alone up there. We just were doing our thing and randomly I asked "hey, what was that gift you said you forgot to give me earlier?" Stanton said it was actually in the car so he went to get it and I saw him start pulling this huge bag out of the car and he yelled for me to close my eyes. So I did while thinking 'how on earth did he forget to give me something so huge?!' So he said to open my eyes and when I did he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I was so surprised and could not believe it was happening and all I could say was "Are you kidding me?! Shut up!!" haha. But then I said YES, put on my absolutely GORGEOUS ring and all in ten seconds everything I've waited for 5 years changed from hypothetical to reality!

I am truly the luckiest girl in the entire world! I've wanted to marry Stanton for a looooong time and it feels so good that it is all finally happening! He is so good to me and truly makes me the happiest girl in the world! We are getting married on October 12th and couldn't be any more excited!

Showing my family the ring!

At the airport

The best part is right after we got engaged we headed off to California to meet the Shields for the weekend. Uncle Broc took everyone out to celebrate our engagement at an amazing restaurant! But it has just been a fabulous and fun week and my new favorite thing in the world is to say the word 'fiance' and to practice my signature with my almost new last name! I can't wait to be married to Stanton Shields; I am the luckiest girl in the world!!!

Life is Good

I haven't posted anything in the longest time. It's not because I don't have 5 minutes to post something, but because I feel like there's nothing worthwhile to write or anything that would slightly appeal to anyone who might read this. I've done a lot of rethinking about the past few month and past two years and it's been a good journey and some fun things have happened so here's what I've been up to the last few months.

KYMRI'S MISSION CALL!
Kymri- sooo nervous!

First, one of my absolute greatest friends got her mission call! As selfish as I am and don't want her to go, I couldn't be happier for her and know this is where she is supposed to be right now. We had fun passing time until she could open the call with her family. Kymri will be leaving August 1st to serve in the Raleigh, North Carolina mission! I am so excited for her and she will be a totally fun and INCREDIBLE missionary! Those people in N. Carolina are so lucky to have her!

passing time at the park

Marianne's Wedding!
The other part of our trio got married! Woo hoo! Marianne looked GORGEOUS and glowed the entire day! All of the wedding festivities were so much fun, and being a bridesmaid was a blast! I am so happy for Mare & Andrew. They couldn't be more perfect for each other!

After the wedding dinner!

Mr & Mrs Nicoll
Love them!!

At the reception they had the bench where Andrew and Marianne had their first kiss and they labelled it "The Kissing Bench". This is Kymri filling in for Stan my man until he gets home :)

GIRLS CAMP
I also went to girls camp at the beginning of June. My whole family was up there which was a lot of fun! Camp couldn't have been any more perfect! I was a YCL mom with wonderful Michel Fluhr and it was EXHAUSTING! I never thought I could be so emotionally/spiritually/physically drained as I was. But it was worth every ounce of energy because the girls were so much fun and we all came home with a better understanding of who we truly are and can be! We had the cutest Dr. Seuss theme and the whole thing turned out to be amazing!

On a side note- I've discovered the most incredible leg workout... bounce a crying baby who refuses to fall asleep! I bounced a baby for a solid 45 minutes tonight and will not be surprised when my legs are sore tomorrow. Lets just say I'm crossing my fingers that my babies prefer rocking over bouncing :)

Cute kids I babysat

Last but not least- I sent my very last letter to the infamous Elder Shields, got my last e-mail, letter, and even a surprise package from him! I am so glad this thoughtful boy of mine thought it would be really important to pay a Muslim man to write our names in Arabic together on a scroll. He seriously cracks me up. He will start traveling Spain with his parents and Carson in just 2 days and then I get to see him in 10!! I am feeling soooo many emotions but I promise to dedicate my entire next post just to that :) I am so anxious and excited to see him and love him to pieces!

Reminiscing...

For the three people who ever look at my blog...
YES
I am clearly obsessed!
Today is 95 days until my favorite person in the world and man of my dreams comes home to me!
I've been thinking about it so much lately and it finally feels real, like he really is going to come home and I CANNOT wait! It is coming so soon! I always look at pictures because they make me so happy SO I decided why not put them all together in one place.
This is the product of that idea I had this morning!

I LOVE ELDER STANTON SHIELDS!!

Surprise Package from Spain

My BESTEST friend Elder Shields sent me a package for my birthday and I of course screamed my head off when I saw this on my front door step when I got home from work...
Well this beautiful box came a week before my birthday which is COMPLETE torture to me. I have been DYING to know what is inside this box. Literally I would sit in my room and stare at it. I'd listen to a whole lecture online for school and at the end realize I didn't hear a word because I was staring at my box and wondering what was inside. Seriously majorly distracting!
Last night I had a dream about opening my birthday surprise and in my dream I opened it and Stanton had given me a detailed clay sculpture of his head... WEIRD! I didn't know what to do with it so I put it on a shelf in my room. (Don't ask how my mind comes up with these things). When I woke up this morning from that dream I decided it was time to open the package because it is seriously affecting my attention, school work and now dreams...
(Please excuse my morning hair and morning face in the following pictures- I know I'm just lovely)
I felt so bad opening it before my birthday that it took me a solid two hours to open the gift. I would cut a piece of tape then peak inside after ten minutes of staring, then cut another piece of tape. Really I'm pathetic. To make a long story short I know you are probable one-billionth as anxious as I was to find out what was inside. It was the one and only thing I told him I wanted him to bring me home before he left..
Excuse the dirty mirror too...
That's right... I have my very own Spanish jersey!!! YES!!!! You bet I immediately put it on and ran around the house! Honestly, he couldn't have possibly picked a more perfect gift! I can not believe he remembered or actually got me one! It was definitely a surprise and a wonderful one at that! I have to say I was a little disappointed that a huge clay head was not in my box, but a Spanish jersey will do :)

Basically, I have the most thoughtful and sweetest best friend in the whole world! I don't know which part was the best between the sweet letter, tape recordings, matching mugs, or jersey, but I do know that Stanton Shields is waaaay too good to me! Even from half way around the world, not having seen or talked to him for 19 months, he still makes me the happiest girl in the world! I am hands down the luckiest girl in the entire world! I love, love, LOVE that boy!

Texas

Last weekend I got to take a fast trip to Texas and visit Matt, Telicia and Bridger! I LOVE TEXAS! Okay I love the wind, and I love that I was there visiting my sister; I don't know how much I love the whole no mountains thing, but needless to say it was way too short of a trip and lots of fun! They have the cutest house, an adorable baby, and brownies... it doesn't get much better than that! Here's a few pictures!

He was so cute with his jean diaper and Huggies shirt! I have a weird thing for cute diapers.
When I got there the first thing I wanted to see was his army crawl. So I put him down and he kind of crawled for real for the first time! I am claiming to be his good luck charm!

He loves his electronics
Waiting for dad to come home
Happy time in the bouncer
The cute Webb family
Sistas!
I love when he laughs so hard
This was only my second time on an airplane and the ride there wasn't so wonderful, but Dramamine works wonders and there is something so magical about flying through clouds!! I couldn't stop staring out the window and I think the lady next to me thought I was crazy because I couldn't stop smiling!

Tis the Season

So I have basically slacked and not posted for the longest time, so I figured it's time to put something new on here! My holidays were pretty typical but a lot of fun! There was of course gingerbread houses made...

Ugly sweater parties to participate in...

My boss, Ben

Nephews to love on...

Beemer
Rigby smashing his face on the window

Great grandma's fur coats to try on...

I really want this one!
Games to play...
Mom gave out jelly bean games where you spin the spinner and you have to eat the color it lands
on, but there is one good flavor and one bad one that look alike so you don't know what you're eating until it's in your mouth. (naughty or nice- get it?!)

My favorite missionary in the world to talk to!!!!

My favorite part of the whole month was talking to this sweet boy on Christmas!
Best present EVER!

And we ended it on New Years by sitting 3rd row, middle of the court at the Suns game! I don't really even know anything about basketball, but I do know it was sweet to be right up in the action! Basketball players are HUGE - in case you didn't know!!

I hope everyone had a Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year!
